Bio
I've always been interested in photography. As a child, I was running around with a camera. When I was a teenager, I took a summer job at a small county newspaper and I was shown how to properly operate a SLR and pointed in the direction of sports photography. Bitten by the shutterbug, a camera was always within reach. Twenty some odd years later, I'm still clicking away.
Although my formal education was in science, I still found myself behind the lens for scientific applications, whether it be scanning electron micrography or astrophotograhy. As the years passed my relationship with photography blossomed into a consuming passion. I studied with professional photographers, put away other things and made photography paramount.
I call my studio "Camera Obscura" as the camera obscura was the forerunner of the modern camera. It also means "dark room." The name lends a bit of mystery, as I like to the capture mood and individuality of my subjects. Surrealism pleasantly finds its way into many of my images.
